Hi! Here I am again to tell you a little bit more about my American adventure. On this occasion I'm going to tell you about my new school, Royal Elementary. To this school attend 4-year-old children (Pre-Kinder), 5-year-old children (Kindergarden), and 6 to 11 year-old kids (Elementary first to fifth grades).
This week I've started with myh training and I have bee able to know the new school. As I imagined, it's totally different from what I am used to. It is a single, one-storey building, quite long from one side to the other. It has lots of corridors that make it look like a maze sometimes, classrooms, offices, a big cafeteria for lunch and a huge sport pavilion.
This week I've also discovered what I am going to teach this year. And it's been a great surprise for me because, contrary to the rest of my Spanish colleagues, I'm not going to be a self-contained teacher for a group, teaching a couple of subjects (Maths, Spanish and English Language Arts, Sciences, Social Studies...), but I'm going to be the teacher of the Science Lab. In my classroom I will have all the students from third, fourth and fifth grade, where they will do their Sciences hands-on activities.
It's a well-equipped laboratory, and quite big as well, where I will have to prepare experiments for half the kids of the school. It is provided with computer, interctive whiteboard, high stols and tables, lots of cupboards, sinks and a storage full of materials that I will have to check during the following weeks. Here you can see some pictures of the lab.
Once more, thank you for following this blog, and I'll see you again very soon, I want to show you some new places I've been these days. See you later!
P.D: He cambiado el estilo y he ido traduciendo párrafo a párrafo. ¿Os gusta así más? ¿O preferís la anterior forma, primero castellano y luego inglés? Espero vuestra respuesta.
P.S: I've changed the style and I translated each paragraph. Do you like this new way? Did you prefer the old one, first Spanish and later English? I'm waiting for your feedback.
